Manchester City did not win its Monday game at Everton FC. This has implications for the Premier League title race.

Everton FC and Manchester City drew 3-3 (0-1) in Monday’s Premier League game. For a long time everything looked like a victory for the title contender. Jeremy Doku (43rd minute) gave City a fantastic lead shortly before the half-time whistle. But in a short time the host turned the game around with goals from Thierno Barry (68th, 81st) and Jake O’Brien (73rd). Erling Haaland (83′) scored the 2-3 goal immediately afterwards. Shortly before the end, things got crazy: In the seventh minute of stoppage time, Doku scored his second dream goal and saved City a point.

The draw means league leaders Arsenal FC are five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, but star coach Pep Guardiola’s team has played one less game.

First, star coach Pep Guardiola’s team took the lead thanks to a remarkable goal from Belgian international Jérémy Doku (43′). But the hosts, for whom former Freiburg player Merlin Röhl was in the starting line-up and played a very convincing game, held on.

They made things difficult for the favorites from Manchester for long stretches and rewarded themselves with three goals between the 68th and 81st minutes after the break. In the 1-1 draw, substitute Thierno Barry benefited from a bad pass from City defender Marc Guéhi. Just five minutes later, Jake O’Brien turned the game around and Barry added the third goal.

But the lead wasn’t enough for Everton: in a hectic final phase, Manchester managed to equalize through Erling Haaland (83′) and Doku again.
