Manuel Neuer has resumed running training on the way to his comeback. A good week before FC Bayern Munich’s quarter-final first leg in the Champions League against Inter Milan, the 39-year-old goalkeeper completed a running unit on the training area.
The Bayern captain had recently had to take a new training break after “a reaction in the muscles of the calf had occurred”. There, Neuer had contracted a muscle fiber tear in the round of 16 of the Champions League against Bayer 04 Leverkusen (3-0).
Winter newcomer Jonas Urbig had represented Neuer in the past games. The 21-year-old had switched from 1st FC Köln to the Munich team, and he would certainly not have expected such a start.
Urbig remained in the Champions League as a new replacement without a goal. In the Bundesliga, he did not make a zero game in three games.

Any return from Neuer would be good news for the Munich -based Munichs. The two quarter-final duels in the Champions League with Inter Milan are particularly important for FC Bayern in April.
The first leg will take place on April 8 (9:00 p.m.) in Munich, in the second leg in Milan on April 16 (9:00 p.m.) the decision is made.
