There is a lot of pressure in the K shopping center in Kortrijk. Hundreds of fans of Pommelien Thijs are queuing up to get an autograph from their idol. The popular singer and actress is currently traveling through Flanders for her new album Hassle! to sign.
The atmosphere is great, despite the long wait. “Some have been here since 9 o’clock this morning,” says Dominique Desmeytere from K in Kortrijk. “We have had zero inconvenience, so congratulations to those young people.” For many, it is more than worth it. “I have also been a fan for quite a long time, so I wanted to take the time to see her,” says Esmée Osaer.
As the queue slowly moves, fans share their stories and favorite songs. Lara Lorez brought an LP: “Because her music is just super good, and it also brings out feelings. I can sing along to almost all the songs.”
When Pommelien finally appears, there is loud cheering. The singer takes plenty of time to greet her fans and sign autographs. Posters, records and even items of clothing are reviewed.
