On the Saturday afternoon, July 31, 2021, a number of men got into an argument on the Madeliefstraat in Vught. The victim got put a gun to his neck and was kicked and beaten. The man was seriously injured, because he left a trail of blood in the streets after his assault.

The police immediately launched a large-scale search and gave chase. Barely an hour after the incident, two men from The Hague (aged 21 and 24) and a 24-year-old man with no fixed abode were arrested. After a wild chase their Peugeot 206 (owned by the mother of the 21-year-old man) on the A12 near Zoetermeer was driven into the guardrail by the police.

Images of that chase are now being released. The video clearly shows what considerations the officers made. They did not want a dangerous and long chase, so it was decided to hit the fleeing car; the car ends up in the guardrail.

The suspects are then taken out of the car one by one and called. With guns drawn, can be seen. The men surrender and are forced to lie on the highway before being handcuffed and taken away. Several firearms were found in the vehicle, police said.
