During their surveillance in Bussum last night, officers found a blown up mailbox. Christmas cards were all lying around, wasting away, the Gooise Meren Police wrote on Facebook.

The officers decided to take all the tickets to the station. “We gave as many cards as possible a second chance, carefully refurbished them and mailed them with an accompanying note from us,” the police said.

“Hopefully they will now arrive safely and still give the recipients a smile and a warm Christmas feeling.”
