The police discovered almost 60 kilos of illegal fireworks in a house in the center of Hoogeveen yesterday. A 61-year-old Hoogevener has been arrested.
The prohibited ornamental and bang material was hidden in boxes in a house on Jacob Catsstraat. According to the police, the storage was done “in an unprofessional manner, so that it can cause great damage if it explodes.”
Officers tracked down the party after a tip. The fireworks have been confiscated and will be destroyed at a later date.
