Police do not yet know who the pedestrian is who died on the N260

It is still unclear who the pedestrian is who died on Sunday evening after a collision with a car on the Langenbergseweg/N260 near Gilze. A police spokesperson reported this to Omroep Brabant on Monday morning.

“It is a man with a light skin color, between 35 and 45 years old. He has short hair with striking inlets at the front,” the spokesperson describes. At the time of the accident he was wearing a dark jacket with light accents, a blue hoodie and blue jeans.

“Someone may be missed at work this morning, for example,” the spokesperson indicates. By now appealing for the public’s help, police hope to determine the identity of the victim.

It is not yet clear to the police what the victim was doing on the provincial road. There is no pedestrian or cycle path along the road where you are allowed to drive eighty. The man received medical assistance after the collision, but this assistance was of no avail.

‘Extremely shocked’
The motorist involved in the collision is a 22-year-old man from Alphen. According to the police, he was ‘severely shocked’. As usual in traffic accidents, he was subjected to an alcohol and drug test. This was all fine.

The police assume that the victim was walking on the road and came into contact with a car. The exact circumstances are still being investigated. For example, the police are curious whether people had already seen someone walking on the Langenbergseweg / N260 before the accident, which happened around ten past eight.
