The police arrested three men (aged 25, 33 and 37) from Groningen on Friday morning in Winsum after a chase. The men drove a stolen car.
The owner of the car reported to the police on Sontweg in Groningen around 4 a.m. He said that he had been robbed and held by three men in his home on De Kaai. He had managed to free himself.
Thermal images and police dog
The police found the stolen car near Bedum based on the license plate. The suspects ran off and crashed on the Netlaan in Winsum. One suspect was immediately arrested and the other two fled. With the help of thermal images and a police dog, they were picked up in nearby bushes.
The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The suspects are being held for questioning, and the victim will also be heard.
