The police arrested a 43-year-old man and his 20-year-old daughter from Boxmeer on Friday morning. They are suspected of moving, hiding and abandoning the body of the 39-year-old man who was previously found dead in a car in Boxmeer.

The victim was found lifeless in a stolen car on Loerangelstraat in Boxmeer on Monday afternoon, October 13. A passerby saw the car on the side of the road and did not trust it. When police arrived, officers found the man’s body in the car.

Belgian drug case
During the investigation, the police arrived at the Belgian town of Torhout. A drug lab was discovered there a week after the dead man was found. Four Dutch people were arrested there. The police are still investigating the relationship between the victim in Boxmeer and the drug lab in Belgium.

The investigation did reveal indications that the 42-year-old man and his daughter may have been involved in moving and hiding the body. That is why they were arrested. They are stuck and heard. The mother of the family is also heard as a witness.

Major research
After the discovery of the body, the police launched a major investigation. Thanks to dozens of tips, including via Opsporing Verzocht, social media and neighborhood research, the detectives tracked down the suspects.

In the meantime, the investigation into what exactly happened continues. The police have not ruled out that more people will be arrested.
