Ukraine wants Poland to become one of the guarantors of its security, the head of the Polish National Security Bureau Pavel Solokh said on the air of the Polsat channel.

“This is one of the options that appears in case of such a situation that it comes to some kind of peace agreements. We are all waiting for this and we are all counting on it. And here the Ukrainian side expresses its interest that the Poles be among the countries guaranteeing Ukraine’s security in the event that such an agreement is signed,” he said (quoted from “RIA News”). Solokh called Kyiv’s initiative “a signal from Ukraine” about how he appreciates the role of Warsaw in this conflict.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kyiv is discussing security guarantees, in addition to Russia, with the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France and Turkey. “They reacted positively to this idea,” the minister added.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on March 17 that Kyiv offered Ankara as one of the security guarantors. According to him, Russia is not against this option.
