The long festival that closes the 2025 EPT season has officially begun. Vulcano and Ruggeri pass the cut in the PokerStars Open but the Azzurri also stood out in the rich Mystery Bounty and in the PLO Grand Slam which for now is dominated by Finland. Here’s what happened on the first day of poker
In December Prague is wonderful. It’s true: it’s cold but the King’s Casino room ensures a more than pleasant temperature for poker players. The festival that will lead us to the Main EPT which closes 2025 began yesterday. As always, the PokerStars Open in Prague opens the proceedings. Here’s the recap
SIDE EVENT: ITALY PRESENT
—
Prague is a stage particularly loved by poker players and we are sure that the numbers will be decidedly high. As scheduled, the aperitif is represented by the PokerStars Open. The first two flights of the Main Event have been archived but first let’s review what happened between Mystery Bounty and PLO Grand Slam. Both are tournaments with decidedly rich first coins and the Azzurri are fighting for the title. On one side there is Enrico Camosci, on the other Dario Alioto. In the €10,200 Mystery Bounty 12 players passed the cut but late registration will also take place at the beginning of day 2. Candido Cappiello said goodbye earlier than expected while Camosci is currently in fifth place. The €5,200 Pot Limit Omaha instead speaks Finnish. First, second and third after the first day of battle arrive from the land of the Lakes. Our standard bearer is Dario Aliotoeleventh overall
POKERSTARS OPEN PRAGUE: THE RECAP OF THE FIRST FLIGHTS
—
Cards are also flying as far as the Open is concerned. Day 1A saw a total of 150 entries. At the end of the day they bagged 23 card artists. Among them we also find Giuseppe Vulcano with just over 100,000 chips. Day 1B, as usual, started shortly after the aperitif and attracted 74 players. At the end of the evening the staff had to prepare 11 envelopes. In fact, many players remained in the game in the second flight of day 1B. Here too we find a bit of Italy as Umberto Ruggeri, a regular presence in the EPTs, started off on the right foot and ended his day at the table with 204,000 chips. We are obviously at the first skirmishes, the Open will continue with other day 1s in the next few days, with satellites and side events. The hope is that the Czech Republic also speaks a little Italian
