Once a month, Aria Nejati, Head of HipHop at Apple, invites you to a new podcast for Apple Music. “Hyped zeitgeist” wants to offer “space for real conversations at eye level, without filters”, as it says in a message. “It’s about attitude, perspective and context. And about how pop culture shapes our thinking.”
In other words, the podcast wants to bring protagonists from the music, media and cultural industry together and give them hearing- without repeating clichés or only thinking in keywords.
In the studio in Berlin, Nejati speaks – also known through “Hyped Radio”, in each episode with three guests. In the premiere episode, Felix Lobrecht (“Mixed Hack”), Valentina Vapaux (influencer, author of “Generation Z between self-fulfillment, insta-loneliness and hope of a better world”) and Kolja Goldstein (rapper).
The conversation is about identity and how strongly the language of the artists is different: on the inside of the stage from real life. “If you as an artist only stay on a safe setting, your art remains boring for me,” explains Lobrecht. Goldstein also makes it clear that his music should also be a warning “that this life has its dark sides”.
