Actress Miitta Sorvali speaks It hurts and it happens in the first episode of his podcast about the ill-fated Linna party.

Sorvali and her spouse Kari Sorvali participated in the Linna party hosted by President Tarja Halonen in 2000. Sorvali had bought a white showy fabric with small square pearls for her evening dress.

Even though the outfit had been fitted six or five times, the pearl fabric turned out to be very painful. Sorvali started bleeding profusely just as it was supposed to leave for the president’s reception.

– They were just like guillotines or should I say a razor blade. Those pearls were just like insanely sharp. How come that never came up in that adaptation?

– Of course, the blood was washed away. And of course the plasters were put where the huge long wounds had appeared.

Sorvali tells about the same trip to the party with a couple of past friends. Sorval’s friend Leena carefully cut strips of contact glue for the sharp beads, which were glued to the dress.

Leena also took pre-cut strips with her in her party bag just in case. The strips came in handy, because the strips glued to the dress slowly started to come off. At the party, Leena glued new strips in place of the torn ones. Patches were made three or four times. Everything went well in the end.

– It was nowhere to be seen. Those contact plastics somehow ended up here under the armpits.

It hurts and happens is a new podcast that is available to listen to In Podimo. Sorvali hosts the podcast together with actress Sanna Stellan.
