There was a lot of desire this Thursday to discover the new version of ‘Macbeth’, Verdi’s opera based on a Shakespearean drama, in a version by Jaume Plensa, an internationally famous Barcelona sculptor who made his successful debut as stage director.
This is not the first time that Plensa has worked at the opera, where he has produced impressive productions with La Fura dels Baus as set designer. With them Plensa premiered ‘La damnation de Faust’, by Berlioz several decades ago, at the Salzburg Festival, as head of the set design and costume design.
