During a regional soccer game, a player punches a man from the opposing team in the face. That has consequences.
A violent incident overshadowed a district cup game in Dietzenbach, Hesse. Shortly before the final whistle, a player from the Egelsbach team was knocked down by a player from the home team and then lost consciousness.
As the Offenbach police announced, the 24-year-old suffered injuries to his face and had to be taken to hospital.
According to police, it is still unclear why the attack occurred. The game was canceled after the incident. An investigation is now underway on suspicion of bodily harm.
