The new “Flemish Pilotage Service” would be founded by ten pilots and work as a company whose members are shareholders. To realize the project, about fifty sheds would have to be connected.

Trade union ACOD links the initiative to the protracted negotiations on pilot pensions. “People have been working on such a private pilotage service behind the scenes for some time. They are trying to break the pilots’ right to strike,” says Geert Dermaut.
