Ed Nijpels about Yesilgöz decision: ‘Incomprehensible’
Former VVD leader Ed Nijpels was a guest at Pauw and De Wit’s table. He responded to the attitude of Dilan Yesilgöz, who continues to refuse to cooperate with GL-PvdA. Nijpels called it ‘very incomprehensible’. According to him, a party leader should always be prepared to speak to other parties, even a ‘clean party’ like GL-PvdA. He finds ruling out in advance undemocratic, especially now that major problems need to be solved. He emphasized that only after discussions can you conclude that cooperation is not working and referred to the previous cabinet, which made a big mess for two years.
