In the first round of the Eredivisie, FC Volendam will visit FC Groningen. The KNVB has just announced this. The Volendam team kicks off on Sunday 7 August at 12.15 pm in the Euroborg.
National champion Ajax starts the new season one day earlier. The team of new coach Alfred Schreuder will visit Fortuna Sittard on Saturday 6 August. The kick-off in Limburg is at 4.30 pm. AZ closes the first round. The Alkmaarders open the season on Sunday, August 7 at 4.45 pm with a home game against Go Ahead Eagles.
First Division
After a thirteen-year absence, FC Volendam is returning to the Eredivisie. The team of trainer Wim Jonk finished second in the first division last season. The clubs in the first division start their competition on the same weekend. Telstar starts on Monday 9 August with a regional clash with Young Ajax. At 8 p.m., the team of new coach Mike Snoei will visit De Toekomst. Jong AZ kicks off at the same time against MVV Maastricht.
