In the relegation, Marc Pfitzner jumped into Eintracht Braunschweig as a firefighter. He remains assistant coach under the new chief coach. Another trio complements the coaching team.
Eintracht Braunschweig made further decisions for the coaching team after the commitment of head coach Heiner Backhaus from third division club Alemannia Aachen. As the BTSV announced on Wednesday evening, Marc Pfitzner remains in action as an assistant coach.
The 40-year-old ex-professional had briefly been responsible in the relegation games against 1. FC Saarbrücken as head coach after the Eintracht separated from bakery predecessor Daniel Schering. Already in October 2023 he had been temporarily taken over for two games.
In addition to Pfitzner, Backhaus will continue to support Marcel Goslar as an assistant in the future. The 26-year-old, who has been under contract with Eintracht since summer 2021, extended his contract on the Oker.
Sports Managing Director Benjamin Kessel is convinced of the constellation in the staff. “With Marc and Marcel we have two very good assistant coaches in our ranks, who recently proved in the successful relegation what potential they have,” he says. “We are very happy about the contract extension with Marcel and the further cooperation with both. In the future, they should take even more responsibility in the coaching team.”
As a newcomer, BTSV, however, presented Julius Schell, who in future should work as an assistant coach with a focus on video analysis. The 25-year-old had worked in Aachen under Backhaus in Aachen last six months. Originally he had switched to Alemannia as a player, but had to end his active career in winter after a knee injury.
Former Eintracht goalkeeper Jasmin Fejzic is preserved for the coaching team like Pfitzner and Goslar. He will primarily take care of the interests of the goalkeepers. “Julius has done an excellent job in Aachen and will be responsible for video analysis in the future,” Kessel explains. “Jasmin has already ideally prepared the goalkeepers in the relegation and left a very good impression during this time.”
