Twelve people have been killed in a plane crash in the US state of Missouri. According to state police, the crash happened near Butler Memorial Airport.
“At this time, reports indicate that all occupants (twelve in total) have died,” the police wrote on X.
The victims included eleven paratroopers and a pilot, a spokesperson for the local disaster relief agency told local TV channel Fox4. Later, a state police sergeant specified that they were people planning to skydive.
Butler is located about 95 kilometers south of Kansas City, also in Missouri, where the selection of the Dutch national team completed a final training on Saturday in preparation for Sunday’s game against Japan.
State police are still investigating what caused the crash.
