Peter Hahn brings out the first climate-neutral collection

The clothing supplier Peter Hahn GmbH has launched a completely climate-neutral collection. This is part of the Green Cotton collections that the company has been developing with the Danish label Green Cotton for over 25 years. The entire collection has been GOTS-certified since 2016. Green Cotton is known for clothing made from sustainably grown organic cotton and ensures the lowest possible environmental impact at every stage of production.

Together with the provider of climate protection solutions, ClimatePartner, Peter Hahn had the total emissions calculated along the production as well as transport and packaging of the garments. The company fully compensates for the resulting amount by investing in climate protection projects. In the long term, it is planned to keep reducing emissions and to compensate where it is currently not possible to avoid them.

“With our Green Cotton collection, we have taken the first step towards climate-neutral fashion. Together with ClimatePartner and our supplier, we recorded the CO2 emissions of the products and created the product carbon footprint (PCF) for the various product groups: we looked at the raw materials, logistics, packaging and disposal using the usual cradle-to-gate approach plus end-of-life,” explains Patrizia Strupp, head of the sustainability department at Peter Hahn.

The company itself has been climate-neutral since 2022 and offsets its CO2 emissions through climate protection project 1114: Forest protection in Tambopata, Peru. This is certified with the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and protects 300,000 hectares of rainforest in the Amazon region.

It was only in 2021 that Peter Hahn expanded his portfolio to include the two sustainable brands Peter Hahn Pure Edition and True Standard, and almost a year ago, in April 2022, he launched the more sustainable women’s fashion brand Wall London.

The Green Cotton Collection is skin-friendly and contains feminine and sporty dresses, jackets, shirts and skirts with floral prints or plain-colored basics. Prices range from €49.95 for a t-shirt or sleeveless top to €99.95 for a long dress.

The new climate-neutral Green Cotton collection is now available via the online shop and the brand’s branches as well as the catalogue.
