Peter Gabriel live in Berlin: Tickets, directions, set list, weather

On Friday (May 26) Peter Gabriel will be coming to the Waldbühne Berlin for a concert as part of his “i/o” tour, the first gig in this country. The 73-year-old is on his first European tour in almost a decade – with 22 performances planned. He presents new songs from his tenth studio album “i/o” and pieces from his back catalogue. At the concerts, the former Genesis singer is accompanied by his regular band members Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché.

On April 18, in Kraków, Poland, Gabriel began his first full solo concert since 2014, simultaneously kicking off the tour.

tickets

Advance tickets for the Gabriel concerts have been available since November 11, 2022. In the case of the performance on May 26th in the Waldbühne Berlin, these are almost sold out – there are currently standing room tickets for the “Golden Circle” for just under 145 euros on Eventim, i.e. the area directly in front of the stage. Seat tickets are sold out.

Gabriel’s other dates in Germany are on May 28 in Munich, June 10 in Cologne, June 12 in Hamburg and June 13 in Frankfurt. Ticket prices range from 71 euros to over 254 euros (the latter is the minimum price for a box seat in Cologne’s Lanxess Arena).

arrival

Arrival by public transport and train

S-Bahn: Take lines S3 or S9 to Pichelsberg S-Bahn station. From there it is a 10-minute walk to the Waldbühne.

Subway: With the U2 line you can reach the subway station Olympiastadion. From there it is a 20-minute walk to the Waldbühne.

Bus: Take bus line M49 or 218 to the Ragniter Allee stop or to Scholzplatz. From there it is a 15-minute walk to the Waldbühne.

arriving by car

There is only limited public parking space in the vicinity of the Waldbühne. The organizers of the Waldbühne therefore recommend arriving by public transport. If you are arriving by car, the P07 car park is available for a fee. To do this, use the access road via Passenheimer Straße (leaving off Heerstraße). The parking lots P04 and P05 are also open as paid parking lots in exceptional cases. More information about parking can be found on the Waldbühne website.

Weather

Since the Waldbühne is an open-air location, the weather is also an important factor. Sun is expected all day in Berlin on Friday, May 26th. According to “wetter.com”, it should still be 18 degrees and slightly cloudy between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., but to the delight of the concert guests there should be a zero percent chance of rain.

setlist

The gigs are a great preview of his upcoming tenth studio album “i/o”, whose new songs were traditionally released at full moon phases. In addition to classics like “Sledgehammer”, “Don’t Give Up” and “Big Time”, there are numerous new songs to be heard, including “Panopticom”, “The Court”, “Four Kinds of Horses” and “i/o”. The former Genesis frontman performs his hit ‘In Your Eyes’ as an encore and closes with his famous 1980 protest anthem ‘Biko’.
