Unjustly accused by Zeus of stealing the Olympic Thunderbolt, he embarks on a mission with his friends Annabeth and Grover to prove his innocence. Led by Chiron, they face mythological creatures in symbolic places like the Parthenon and Las Vegas. Chaos erupts when Hades demands that Percy hand over the Thunderbolt in exchange for his mother, taking them to the Underworld. Will they be able to reach Olympus and deliver the Thunderbolt to Zeus? Poseidon’s promise to watch over Percy won’t save Gabe from his dark fate…

The film Percy Jackson and the Olympians – The Lightning Thief is the film adaptation of the first chapter of Rick Riordan’s literary series; arrived in Italian cinemas on March 12, 2010 under the distribution of 20th Century Fox. The production required a considerable budget of 95 million dollarswith Fox acquiring the rights to the novel in June 2004. Chris Columbus he was chosen as director in 2007, leading the cast selected for the film. Filming took place in Vancouver since April 2009, including unique scenarios such as the full-scale reconstruction of the Parthenon in Athens, located in Nashville. This film project presented logistical and creative challenges, but was not met with much critical success. The anticipated official trailer made its debut on November 19, 2009fueling expectations regarding this epic mythological adventure.
