Pearl Jam have released a “new” video that is actually a few years old: the song “You Are” from their 2002 seventh album RIOT ACT has now been given an official clip. It consists of a live recording of Pearl Jam performing the song at the Chop Suey club in Seattle.

A few days earlier, Pearl Jam released a video for the song “1/2 Full” from the same session, which also comes from RIOT ACT.

Pearl Jam then, as now, consisted of vocalist Eddie Vedder (short hair in the video), lead guitarist Mike McCready, guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament, drummer Matt Cameron and, on live performances, keyboardist and organist Boom Gaspar.

RIOT ACT was released on November 12, 2002. The songs “I Am Mine”, “Bu$hleaguer”, “Save You” and “Love Boat Captain”, in which Pearl Jam dealt with or addressed the Roskilde tragedy, were officially released as singles. At a Pearl Jam festival performance there in 2000, nine people died after there were sound problems and too many people pushed towards the front of the stage. Wave-like movements in the audience caused a number of viewers to fall while others tripped over them.

Pearl Jam’s current, eleventh album GIGATON was released in 2020. In the summer of 2022, the band caught up on their associated European tour, which had to be postponed twice due to the corona pandemic.
