Rapper Lil Baby is getting a tag in his honor

On Sunday (November 13) in Atlanta, November 13 was designated “Dominique ‘Lil Baby’ Jones Day” in honor of rapper Lil Baby. The day was named after him because of his musical, but above all humanitarian achievements for the people there – and because Atlanta is his native city. Most recently, the rapper released the album IT’S ONLY ME on October 14th.

Lil Baby founded the Four the People Foundation and received the Quincy Jones Humanity Award from the Black Music Action Coalition in September 2022, which The Weeknd received the year before. The award is given to artists who use their reach to make social change and help people. This year he hosted his third Back to School Fest with the charity, where he provided food, drink, rides and most importantly, school items for over 3000 children. He also sponsored a $150,000 scholarship program at his former school.

Additionally, he pledged to donate a total of $1.5 million of profits from his single “The Bigger Picture.” He dedicated the single to the “Black Lives Matter” movement and was nominated twice at the Grammys in March 2021, but did not win.

“I just want to say that I appreciate everyone here because nothing we do or try to do can be done by one person. It takes us all to stick together and stay together,” the rapper said during the Quincy Jones Awards ceremony.
