Paul van Tatenhove (49) from Berghem was shocked, surprised and angry at the same time. On Friday he received a paint bomb on his car under a viaduct on the highway. “This could have ended very differently.”
The different emotions compete for priority at Paul. “I can’t help with my head that this happens. This is not a joke. This is playing with human lives,” he says.
“Then we saw a quack blue paint over the hood.”
It happened Friday night. Together with his wife, after a pleasant evening in Valkenswaard, he rode the A2 home. At the Eindhoven Airport exit suddenly there was a huge bons.
“We were shocked, but did not immediately see that something was wrong,” says Paul. “When we got home, we looked a bit better. Then we saw the Kwak blue paint on the hood and the window on the side where my wife was.”
“What if it was a stone instead of paint?”
“You don’t know what to think,” Paul continues. “It is a mixture of disbelief and piss. You think: what if I had gotten through the shock of the road, or if it was a stone instead of paint?”
Paul has since reported to the police. That day no longer received these kinds of reports, a police spokesperson said.
“This is not an innocent joke.”
Paul has no idea who played with lives that evening. “By sharing my story, I hope to make others aware that this is not innocent funny action.”
