Patrik Laine the second chain played a key role when the Montreal Canadiens unexpectedly took away points from Florida.

Before Saturday’s match, Laine had made no less than eight power play hits in the ten NHL games he played this season. As a guest of the top team Panthers, Tesoma’s goal stick got much-needed success in the 5-on-5 game.

Laine, who played reliably, did not balance the goals of the second set of his chain, but was really strongly involved in them.

First, Laine forcefully brought the puck into the area, went around the Panthers goal and absorbed three opponents. Timely move to the line, and after two quick passes Kirby Dach managed to put the puck in the cage.

In the 2–0 goal, Laine did a strong job of clearing the back and almost stole the puck Alexander Barkov in style with his long club. The game turned quickly from the middle zone, and Dach took the drive day after day.

The third link in the chain Alex Newhook caught the passing surfaces for both goals. Laine’s power statistic, on the other hand, improved by two plus marks.

The highlight of the Canadiens super set by Jake Evans a spectacular 3–0 understrength goal. Cole Caufield completed the final numbers 4–0 in the final set.

Made his debut in goal for Montreal Jakub Dobeš was excellent. The 23-year-old Czech started his NHL career with 33 saves and a clean sheet.

Montreal arrived in Florida as the worst visiting team in the NHL. The away win was only Habs’ fifth of the season.

Saturday’s reception was a real pass for the Panthers. For example, captain Barkov took a chilling -3 to his power stat and was invisible on the offensive end.
