With his criticism after the Dortmund defeat in Bologna, the Borussia consultant caused a sensation. During the next live broadcast, Sammer will be replaced by two other TV experts.
The break from Sammer, however, is not related to his controversial statements after the defeat of BVB against FC Bologna. According to information from the German Press Agency, there are private reasons for its absence. Accordingly, Sammer announced several weeks ago that he would not be available on this matchday.
At the end of January, the “Bild” reported that Sammer had to decide at the request of the BVB leadership whether he wanted to continue working as a club consultant or as a TV expert at Borussia Dortmund. So far, there is no official confirmation for this.
Prime Video shows the top game of the premier class on Tuesday, while all other games can be seen at DAZN. At the next Champions League game of FC Bayern against Celtic Glasgow in a week, Sammer is said to be in use for Prime Video again.
After the 1-2 loss of BVB in Bologna, Sammer had had a clear criticism of the team. In the live broadcast at Prime Video, he said that the team was physically and mentally in a “non-constitution”. The basis is missing, and the team could neither defend nor attack. He was criticized by Lothar Matthäus for these statements.
