A passerby found a deceased man on the Kesselseweg in Maren-Kessel on Friday night around half past three in the morning. The police assume that the victim was hit by a car.
About twenty minutes later, officers in the area arrested a suspect. This man is said to be the driver of a van that was involved in the collision.
The suspected place where the collision took place and the place where the van was found were cordoned off for investigation.
The suspect, a 23-year-old man from Maren-Kessel, was taken to a police station. His van has been seized for trace evidence.
