Paris Saint-Germain has also moved into the final of the Champions League thanks to a top performance by Gianluigi Donnarumma-FC Arsenal missed too many chances.
At 2: 1 (1-0) in the Prinzenpark, Fabián Ruiz scored the 2-0 lead in the 27th minute for PSG, Achraf Hakimi. Bukayo Saka’s connection goal in the 76th minute was not enough for the Londoners, they had already lost the first leg 0-1 and now have to watch PARIS meet Inter Milan in Munich on May 31.
Donnarumma keeps Paris in the race – and breaks the rhythm
Only one team played in Paris in the first ten minutes: Arsenal. The Gunners put together the hosts completely in their own half, had possession values of around 70 percent and three big chances. Declan Rice missed the first one after a precise flank from Mikel Merino, then Gianluigi Donnarumma grew beyond himself, parried brilliantly against Gabriel Martinelli’s volley shot from a short distance, then the Italian steered an 18-meter floor of Martin Ödegaard just around the post.
After this scene, the Italian goalkeeper could be treated for two minutes without a reason being recognizable – and immediately afterwards he was able to continue playing great. But this break had an effect, almost like a break: Paris sorted up again, Arsenal lost the swing, the game became more balanced.
Kvaratskhelia hits the post
And she even tipped in the other direction. After a good quarter of an hour, PSG came up with the center line for the first time and immediately presented the Londoners with huge problems: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia moved from left to the center and fled the ball from the penalty area to the right post. Uncertainty promptly spread, William Saliba lost the ball in the game structure and enabled Paris the next chance – but Désiré Doué changed the opportunity to freely off David Raya.
Shortly afterwards, Raya had no chance. Rice had surrounded Kvaratskhelia near the sidelines, and Thomas Party wanted to clarify the following free kick from Vitinha to the five -meter room of the London, but completely failed. The ball flew to the center to the penalty area, where Fabián Ruiz could take it with his chest and pulled off with the left full span – the ball struck in the right corner slightly deflected.
Without Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, the risk of gate is missing
After that, the game flattened a little, both teams neutralized in midfield, the very big moments on the offensive were missing. At Arsenal, the failures of Kai Havertz (thigh surgery) and Gabriel Jesus (cruciate ligament tear), PSG did not have to do much more than to defend.
It was only in the second round that more drive came into play again, but it was only in the 64th minute that it became dangerous again: Bukayo Saka, until then with a largely disappointing appearance, circulated the ball from the right corner of the penalty area to the left corner, but found his master in Donnarumma.
Suddenly Benjamin Brand reports
Saka now seemed better to find the game, at his next dribbling he fell in the penalty area and demanded penalty, but Felix Zwayer immediately showed “Continue Playing”. Paris started the return, but the shot from Achraf Hakimi from a left -wing position was no problem for Raya. The game continued even after this scene before the next interruption suddenly rose hustle and bustle: Zwayer showed the screens gesture, and everything indicated that the Saka two-fighter had to be checked.
But Var Benjamin Brand’s message went in the other direction: At the Hakimi shot, Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly had touched the ball minimally, but did not even change the firing track without any body tension-but the German referee team decided on a penalty. Vitinha finally made sure that the scene did not have to be discussed further: After a provocatively slow start, such a weak shot came out that Raya could easily parry the ball.
Hakimi uses the next Party-Patzer
But Paris no longer brought that off the way. When Partey made another difficult mistake again, Hakimi made the preliminary decision: Raya was no longer able to reach his tough low shot in the right corner. Arsenal did not give up and came to a connection through Saka – before that Marquinos had been pushed too easily in the duel against Leandro Trossard, then Lucas Hernández falsified the ball in front of the feet of Saka.
Again Saka could have made the game exciting again in the 80th minute. But when Donnarumma was firing for the only time at a cross from Riccardo Calafiori that evening and pre -ranks on the ball, the English national striker shot bluntly over the empty goal.
