Impressive direct comparison
In the video that Paris Jackson uploaded to her Instagram account, you can initially see footage in which she appears to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. In addition to substances, tears and the words “I hate life” can be seen. Clips of her gradually follow in which she looks healthier and, above all, clean. Paris Jackson celebrates life
The 26-year-old wrote underneath: “Hello, this is pk and I am an alcoholic and heroin addict. Today I am five years clean and sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that I am grateful would be a poor euphemism. Gratitude doesn’t even scratch the surface. I can smile today because I’m free of all that.”
Paris Jackson also went into more detail about the quality of life she found in abstinence. “I can make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cats. I’m allowed to feel heartbreak. I can mourn, I can laugh, I can dance, I can trust. I can feel the sun on my skin – it’s warm,” shared the King Of Pop’s offspring. “I discovered that life happens regardless of whether I’m sober or not, except that today I get to participate. Here are snapshots of me that were only possible because I’m teetotal, and oh my god, I can’t believe I almost missed it all.”
Pride and congratulations
Under the post, other celebrities express pride and support. “Congratulations, Paris. I am so, so proud of you and your growth, your strength and what you have accomplished,” wrote her aunt La Toya Jackson. Fener would Paris Jackson help others in the same process. Paris Hilton commented: “I’m so proud of you sister,” while actress Lucy Hale called Jackson “amazing.” Paris’ father Michael Jackson also struggled with substance abuse during his lifetime and died in 2009 from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol that his doctor had prescribed for him.
