Journalist Daniel Mandelkern is sent by his wife, director of the newspaper he works for, in search of the writer Mark Svensson in the area of Lake Lugano (in reality it is the Italian lake Orta).

From the very beginning, the series transports us to Svensson’s universe through flashbacks that reconstruct his lifesince 1998 when he lived in Colombia with his friend Felix.

An intertwining of narrative planes unfolds, not without rhythm efforts, and ends up involving Daniel in the mysterious life of the writer, including a love triangle at different latitudes.

Paradise (international title: Funeral for a Dog), is a German series inspired by Thomas Pletzinger’s best-seller that tries to mix genres and approaches, from the investigative to the more classic road movie.

In fact, Svensson’s secrets will lead the protagonist to relive adventures from South America to the Arctic Circle, to the tragedy of September 11th.

It is a tale of bonds, of intense and violent relationships, a reflection on the sense of guilt that relies on more than one occasion on the variety of landscapes and settings, almost a geographical exploration coinciding with the introspective one. The initials are curious, A dreamin Italian.

For those who love weaving with a melancholy aftertaste and many mysteries.
