We collected them, exchanged, kept as invaluable treasures. Soon, we will see them on the small screen. Panini stickers become the protagonists of a TV series, taken from the book The album of dreams by Luigi Garlando and signed by Indigo Film, with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission. On air on Rai, the production will retrace the history of the pocket myth, capable of combining generations with few, irresistible, ingredients: the surprise effect, the wait for the missing idol, the thrill of exchanges.
The origin of the dream
–
Once upon a time, in Corso Duomo in Modena, a small newsstand bought in installments, six thousand lire at a time, by a young widow. There his four children, Giuseppe, Franco, Cosimo, Umberto and Benito, had the intuition: to detect an old batch of stickers of the publisher Nannina and sell them in white sachets with the red edge, two at a time. The success was immediate. Everyone wanted them, nobody knew how to produce them. So that family shop soon turned into an industry, capable of reading the times and focusing straight on what most passionate (Va) the Italians: football.
a generational success

The TV series will start from the beginning, but it will not arrive at the end. “The time span will be more restricted than the novel, which ends with 1988 with the transfer of the company”, explains Garlando. “After the debut in the 1940s, the fiction will cross the 1950s and 1960s, and then stop in the 70s. He will focus on the human adventures of the protagonists who unravel in historical scenarios in evolution, as the Italy of those times divided between innovation and tradition. Curious to see how it will come. “
