The large open -air pool in Veghel is open again on Tuesday for fanatic job stretchers. A week earlier, white paint was thrown into the fifty -meter pool by strangers after closing time. Mans and power have worked in recent days to clean the water. “The water is still cold, but that doesn’t stop them,” says Mohamed Moawad, supervisor of the Laco-Buitenbad.
It is a beautiful day for Mohamed. All day long he can proudly tell his guests that they can go into the big bath again. “People react very happy. That the water is still cold is not stopping.”
For days, regular swimmers came to ask him if they could pull their beloved jobs again. “We have worked hard here in recent days with many people to get the pool clean again.”
“But luckily that was not necessary, because then it would have been closed for six weeks.”

“It takes a long time before all the water is out and there is new water in it,” says the swimming pool regulator. “In the end we were able to get it out with vacuum cleaners and chlorine. There have even been divers to clean the bath again.”
“That really ruined the week for the children who came and the regular swimmers.”
Mohamed is happy that the values of the water are good again. “Although it is of course a shame that it was closed all week last week.”
The outdoor swimming pool saw the nice weather, a few days after the start of the season last week, with open arms. Now only the recreational pool and the toddler pool were opened last week. “That really ruined the week for the children who came and the regular swimmers. They wanted to be in the big bath.”
“That would make it a lot safer.”
The regulator therefore believes that measures should be taken. “I think there should be a camera. That would make it a lot safer. People can now just penetrate after closing time.”
“But the camera costs money,” he says. Something he has already indicated to his manager. “Rather it was too expensive, but I think this also costs a lot of money.”
