Romanian labor migrants in Echten may lose their place of residence on 1 July. The manager of the holiday park wants to send the residents of the park because the municipality of De Wolden threatens with a penalty of a few tons.
The residents of the park together have hired a lawyer to challenge the decision. On Thursday, the court ruled on the issue, the Romanians hope for a good outcome.
Operator Jacco Holties, who is also a broadcaster of the labor migrants with his company Sterkwerk, has to clear the park from the municipality. De Wolden wants to blossom that again for tourism.
The message of a possible departure hit like a bomb at the Romanian community. According to park dweller Valentin Dajbog there are also families. “People will really get into trouble here when they have to leave.”
