Many goals and two unexpected defeats. Friday had a lot to offer in the German lower house.
The promotion race in the 2nd Bundesliga remains wild. Both SC Paderborn (2: 3 against Eintracht Braunschweig) and Hannover 96 (0: 1 against Karlsruher SC) made bitter mistakes on Friday evening.
Hannover 96 had to accept a setback in the fight for the promotion of Bundesliga. At the start of the 28th match day, the second division team at Karlsruher SC lost 0-1 – for the first time since the change of coach.
For André Breitenreiter it was the first defeat in the eleventh game. The coach had taken over the club shortly before the turn of the year and had remained unbeaten since then. In Karlsruhe, however, his team remained without a goal – and left important points.
Christoph Kobald scored the decisive goal for the KSC in the 54th minute. The hosts improved to tenth place, but the gap to the upper table positions remains clear. Hanover missed the leap to the relegation place by defeat. As a sixth, the distance in third place is three points – with the possibility that it will increase during the weekend.
The SC Paderborn has again clasped in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga. The team of coach Lukas Kwasniok lost 2: 3 (1: 1) at Kellerkind Eintracht Braunschweig despite two leadership and missed the possible jump to third place due to the second defeat.
After the hits from Filip Bilbija (26th) and Adriano Grimaldi (48th), the SCP was at the forefront, but Richmond Tachie (44th) and Rayan Philippe (71.) were equal. Leon Bell Bell (78th) even ensured the acclaimed victory of Eintracht, which was the table-16. But continue to fight for relegation.
