Padel: Malmoe, Lebron and Galan devastating: are they the strongest again?

World Padel Tour in Sweden: the Galacticos sweep away Coello-Tapia and then beat Di Nenno-Stupaczuk in the final. Among the women, triumph for Brea and Gonzalez

Never sell the wolf’s skin before you have captured it. The old warning spoke of bears and not wolves, ok, but this is about the “Wolf” Juan Lebron, not just any one. “El Lobo” is back. And he has resumed dominating the world padel scene together with his partner Ale Galan, just as rumors about their possible separation at the end of the year have been going crazy for a few weeks – despite the denials. Fantapadel? Maybe. But what is certain is that the Galacticos, given up for boiling in the spring, have regained the throne in this final phase of the season, putting all the opposing pairs behind them.

MALE

Lebron is finally well, and it shows. He no longer has problems with his elbows or anything else, he has found his match rhythm and on the right side of the pitch he now once again seems head and shoulders above the other specialists in that area of the “track”, even better than phenomena like Di Nenno, Coello or Chingotto. Galan, on the left, is the usual hammer. And here comes yet another confirmation of the newfound alchemy between the two Spanish champions in the World Padel Tour stage in Malmo: fourth victory in as many finals played in the last seven tournaments. After having swept away the leaders of the world rankings (Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia) in the semi-final, in the final Lebron and Galan didn’t even give the number two, Martin Di Nenno and Franco Stupaczuk, a chance, losing with a score of 6-3 6-4. Usual slow start for the Superpibes and late awakening in the second set, insufficient to avoid the fourth defeat in five matches against the two Spaniards this season.

FEMALE

Among the women, a moment of confusion for the queens Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez, exactly as is happening in the men’s field in Coello and Tapia. The number one in the rankings, in Sweden, saw their path interrupted in the semifinal at the hands of Salazar-Araujo, while on the other side of the scoreboard Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez made their way, capable of eliminating Ortega-Triay. In the final, Delfi and Bea didn’t miss the opportunity and took home the title, winning 6-4 6-3. And now everyone in Mexico: in the middle there was supposed to be the stage of the World Padel Tour in Buenos Aires, but it was canceled amidst a thousand controversies.
