October 8 – 10.57pm – MILAN

A great day of padel at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, where the Oysho Premier Padel P1 comes to life. Sensational elimination for Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas, who immediately exit the scene despite having made 10 semi-finals this season. Triumph for Hernandez and Collado, who in the evening match eliminated the number 4 seed in three sets. Winning and convincing debut for Federico Chingotto and Ale Galan, who overwhelmed the Belgian Geens and the Spanish Jerez (doubles 6-2). Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello also won well, having just triumphed in Rotterdam and aiming to bring home the title here too, where they won 10 months ago (success over the Deus brothers). Stupaczuk and Lebron (seeded number 3) also advance: it ends 6-3 7-5 with Gala and Chozas. On Thursday we enter the highlight of the tournament, with the day of the round of 16, where all the big names will play, both among the men and among the women. Great crowd on this day too, with an extremely involved Allianz, especially with ChinGalan on the pitch.

Italian joy

Meanwhile, Carolina Orsi speaks the day after the victory with Martina Fassio against Sofia Saiz and Marta Talavan, in the first round of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1. A success that Carolina recounts with lucid enthusiasm: “I really wanted to get through – she said during the media day at the Allianz Cloud -. As we played the stands filled up and it was even more beautiful and exciting. It was a tough match, but we work to face these moments, thinking that we can always win. And in fact in the third set we pushed each other forward, Marti told me a couple of ‘cool’ things that loaded me. In that moment we were more of a couple than ever. We knew that in the third set we were two breaks down, but we remained united and in my opinion it was our attitude that made the difference.”

the boom

It’s a great moment for all of Italian padel and the numbers prove it, especially in Lombardy. There are 1,451 fields distributed across 456 clubs. In 2022, the year of the first P1 at the Allianz Cloud, there were 858 fields: a leap forward that comes close to an increase of 40%. With 400 thousand practitioners out of approximately one and a half million throughout Italy, Lombardy is the locomotive of passion for this sport. Even from the point of view of facilities, growth is unstoppable and in 2025 alone, 33 clubs were opened and 111 pitches were installed, equal to 22% of the Italian total. And not only that: almost 83% of the new courts are indoors.
