It remained unclear why the Bundesliga top scorer was missing from training. He threatens to miss the Three Lions’ insignificant friendly match against Wales.
Shortly before England’s friendly against Wales, there is a question mark over the use of Harry Kane. The captain was unable to train with coach Thomas Tuchel’s team on Wednesday. Instead, the FC Bayern Munich striker only completed one individual session indoors.
The English association left it open why Kane did not take part in the final training session. The 30-year-old suffered a blow to his right ankle during Munich’s 3-0 win in Frankfurt last Saturday. However, Kane subsequently stated that he was fine.
Alongside Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah, Kane was missing from the pitch on Wednesday. The remaining 22 players completed regular training at St. George’s Park in Birmingham.
If the Three Lions’ record scorer (74 goals) is unable to play on Thursday evening, there are several options available with Ollie Watkins, Marcus Rashford, Jarrod Bowen and Anthony Gordon.
The test match against Wales will take place at 8:45 p.m. in a sold-out Wembley Stadium (live on streaming service DAZN). The next competitive game awaits just five days later: England will then face Latvia in the World Cup qualifiers. After five wins from five games, England lead Group K by seven points.
