The owner of the horse who galloped a round at VV Drenthina from Emmen last Saturday has not yet reported. Henk Bos, the neighbor of the football club, is in her hands with his hands.

When Bos heard on Saturday that the animal was walking over his neighbors’ football field, he immediately took action. “I have been the Koetsaxi in the center of Emmen for twenty years,” he says.

Bos took the horse to one of his stables in the hope that the owner would report, but that has not happened so far. He has now given the horse a name: Bella.

Bos immediately noticed on Saturday that the animal looked stressed. “When I took her to my stable in the afternoon, the sweat dripped away from her. I think someone just wanted to get rid of her and dumped her, because she looks neglected.”

Bella has since relaxed at Bos and has received medicines and a deworming agent.

Nevertheless, Bos hopes to find the owner of the animal soon. “I all have stallions myself and this is a mare. That is a problem. Moreover, I don’t know if the animal has diseases and it is not chipped.”

Bos has already spent money on medicines for Bella. “It’s not about the money I have spent on it so far. I love horses, but her horseshoes also look very neglected and that is going high in costs.”

Harry Lubbers, from the Drents Rusthuis for Horses, is surprised that the animal has no chip. “It is mandatory that a horse is chipped,” says Lubbers. Horses can go to the Drents Rusthuis for Horses if they need extra care in their old age. The horse that is now at Bos could also go there, but there are costs involved.

“Normally owners bring their horse here, because they still give their horse the best years. I have never experienced that a horse comes in without the owner,” says Lubbers.

Bos has already informed the animal ambulance and the police. He also put messages on Facebook, hoping that the owner will soon report to him.
