Otte misses a possible duel with Zverev in Munich

Tennis pro Oscar Otte was surprisingly eliminated in the round of 16 at the Munich clay court tournament.

The 29-year-old from Cologne lost to the much worse-placed Italian Flavio Cobolli 0: 6, 6: 3, 3: 6 and missed a possible quarter-final duel with Olympic champion Alexander Zverev. Last year Otte reached the semi-finals on the Iphitos facility.

At around five degrees Celsius, Otte got off to a real cold start and made too many unforced mistakes. With anger in his stomach, the German acted much more aggressively as the game went on and dominated the rallies. In the deciding set, the otherwise strong backhand of the Rhinelander ended up in the net too often.

Also Hanfmann and Altmaier out

Almost at the same time as Otte, Yannick Hanfmann lost his match on Center Court. The man from Karlsruhe lost to the Danish top favorite and world number seven Holger Rune 3:6, 4:6.

Daniel Altmaier had previously said goodbye to the ATP tournament. The 24-year-old from Kempen was beaten by the Russian Aslan Karazew 6: 4, 6: 7 (2: 7), 2: 6. The match had been stopped the day before when the score was 0:3 in the third set due to rain.
