Otte and Altmaier lose the start in Miami

Tennis pro Oscar Otte is not really getting going. The 29-year-old from Cologne was beaten in the first round of the Masters tournament in Miami on Wednesday by the convincing American Brandon Nakashima 6:7 (3:7), 3:6.

Daniel Altmaier later clearly lost 2:6, 1:6 against the Belarusian Ilya Ivashka.

Davis Cup player Otte, who last reached the second round in Indian Wells and then lost his opening duel at the Challenger in Phoenix, had to congratulate his opponent, who ultimately acted more consistently, after 1:27 hours of play.

Altmaier did not earn a breakball and was clearly inferior. Jan-Lennard Struff and Olympic champion Alexander Zverev will also start at the tournament in Florida.
