Ostend can prepare itself for top sport in the summer of 2026. The city council has given the green light in principle for the start of the first stage of the Baloise Ladies Tour on Thursday, July 16. This means the city is hosting a leading international cycling race for women.
The start of the stage is planned around 1:30 PM in the Vuurtorenwijk. The exact route will be determined later in consultation with the organizer, GLS Sportadviesbureau. After the start in Ostend, the riders will travel inland towards Knokke-Heist, where the finish is planned.
