Attention, spoiler: Here, details about the new season of “Squid Game” will reveal!
Oscar winner Cate Blanchett has a guest appearance in the last scene of the South Korea hit “Squid Game”. She plays a recruiter for fatal competition.
“We thought a woman as a recruiter would be more dramatic and fascinating,” says Squid Game director Hwang Dong-Hyuk in one Making of Netflix. “And why Cate Blanchett? She is just the best, she has an incomparable charisma. Who doesn’t love them? So we were very happy that they would take part. We needed someone who can dominate the screen with only one or two words, and that was exactly what she did.”
Hwang continues: “When Gong Yoo is the Korean recruiter, I thought that she would fit perfectly as an American recruiter to give history a short but gripping and impressive end.”
What happens in the last episode of “Squid Game” (season 3)?
While the revolution failed with season 2 of the successful Netflix series, GI-Hun (Lee Jung-Jae) and Front Man (Lee Byung-Hun) continue.
One is determined to end the cruel games once and for all, the other wants to finally destroy Gi-Hun’s belief in humanity.
In the last scene of the season you sit in a car in Los Angeles and hear the sound of two Ddakji tiles that fall on the floor at a traffic light. He also hears the sound of a slap in the face. Front you boost your window down and see blanchett in a suit that plays with a desperate man in an alley of Ddakji.
Blanchett looks at Front Man, who finally drives away. Blanchett then takes care of her recruit again, who willingly does what she asks.
Cate blanchett impressed everyone on the set
After the shoot, “Squid Game” director Hwang was impressed by how little gestures blanchett the camera convinced (“This is what true talent looks like”). “She was also incredibly good at playing Ddakji,” added Hwang. “I think she successfully turned the Ddakji on the first attempt and we were able to turn it a long setting immediately.”
In an interview, actor Lee Byung-Hun was also impressed by the conclusion of the series, which could also be the beginning for a new section. “Maybe there are games that you can’t win,” he philosophized.
