In the 97th Oscars, Daniel Blumberg was honored for the “best film music”. What music he has already done and his influences here in portrait.
In an interview with “Crack” about his work in “The Brutalist”, he said: “In the script, I first thought of a piano. Simply because it’s a large room. The film is so extensive when it comes to decades. And I had the feeling that this instrument has great potential to cover many different aspects. The first piece I made was a prepared piano in which screws are put into the strings, and when the hammers hit the strings, percussive sounds are created. For me that had to do with the construction. We speak of hammers and screws, which conceptually seemed to me to be a good starting point. “
