We are sitting at the table with a nice meal with two grandsons of almost 12 and 8 years old. They went to England with their families. Their and our language skills are playfully tested while eating. We give each other an English or Dutch word to translate and / or explain each other. We also talk about how languages have taken over words from each other, the loan words. What the grandson of 8 asks: “Do you have to return those loan words?”
