In Bruges, protests are growing against the new waste policy that will come into effect in June 2026. Opposition parties Open Vld and Vlaams Belang are starting a petition against more expensive residual waste bags, biweekly collections and the new organic waste system. Opposition parties Groen and N-VA also support the petition.
