Op1 negotiates for a long time about the arrival of Glennis Grace: ‘Aborted’

The editors of Op1 have done their utmost to get Glennis Grace at the table now that she is making her comeback in a dinner show, but in the end they were unable to get her.

Now that Glennis Grace has promised never to demolish a Jumbo branch again, she can perform in the dinner shows of producer Frank Wentink. Just sing Whitney Houston songs again, as a kind of final act. Very nice of course, because she won’t be able to fill a hay barn on her own until 2023.

Glennis wants number 1

Frank brought it to some media two weeks ago, but we don’t see or hear from Glennis himself anywhere. What’s behind that? The plan was to join Op1, but that was decided against, it now appears.

So it remains with his interview in De Telegraaf, according to Frank. “That’s where I announced her big comeback. That day I was flooded with phone calls. All talk shows wanted Glennis on the air. I negotiated with Op1 for a long time,” he reveals in conversation with De Privé.

‘Still too early’

Tijs van den Brink puts the barbaric Glennis to the test… unfortunately it didn’t happen. “It was clear that Glennis thinks it is still too early to go public. Understandable, of course she has to be very careful with her words and there is a good chance that what she says will be misinterpreted.”

Can’t she just go to an uncritical program? Humberto or something like that? “In two months she will probably join us somewhere, but not yet.”

Publicity

Who will then take care of all the publicity? “I have put my right-hand man Marc Forno forward for publicity. He is the artistic director. Glennis will be the grand finale act. She will be the star of the show, which will of course include the Whitney Houston songs.”

Frank concludes: “First we are curious about the reactions to her comeback. They are very positive. I don’t see any obstacles on the road yet. Supported by kind responses from Jeroen van der Boom, among others, I dare to do it.”
