One gesture says it all – Rude treatment for a Russian

Jan-Krzysztof Duda, 25, doesn’t really appreciate Denis Khismatullin, 39.

Jan-Krzysztof Duda expressed his opinion at the end of December. PDO

Chess grandmaster Jan-Krzysztof Duda refused to shake hands with a Russian Denis Khismatulliniawhen the two met in a tournament held in December.

A video of the encounter is spreading on social media. The Pole’s rude gesture towards Khismatullin, who is extending his hand, says everything essential: Duda does not really appreciate a Russian who supports his country’s brutal war of aggression in Ukraine.

According to the rules of chess, players must shake each other’s hands before a match, as it is a sign of mutual respect.

If Khismatullin had filed a complaint about Duda’s behavior, the Pole could have been dismissed. However, Khismatullin did not complain about his opponent’s actions.

The game ended in a draw.
