Chris Hoy has been able to celebrate many successes in rail cycling. Last year he spoke about his cancer – now he has been going on his way since then.

The six-time Olympic gold medalist Sir Chris Hoy had made details of his cancer last year. In an interview, the 48-year-old has again spoken about his illness and the spreading tumor.

As the English “Mirror” reports, Hoy suffers from prostate cancer. Now he gave insights into his changed life in the “The Mid Point” podcast. Finally, he could no longer raise his seven -year -old daughter Chlose. He now explained: “At the scans, secondary tumors turned out in my spine, which had buried themselves so far into the bones that it was broken.”

The doctors immediately made the alarm and understood Hoy, which meant this diagnosis: “When I was told that I shouldn’t lift my six -year -old daughter, I thought: ‘It really has an impact on my life.’ So I got injections.

Hoy found the restrictions in everyday life with his family particularly stressful. “The thought of not being able to raise his child was horrific,” he confessed. But now he can report positive progress: “I’m okay for now.”

His goal is now to persuade more men to take care of preventive examinations: “For me, the most important thing is to raise awareness and to get men to be examined,” said Hoy Sky Sports last December. He hopes to be able to encourage other people affected: “If you recognize it early enough, it is very easy to treat.” He also wanted to show that difficult situations in life could also be mastered.
